Questions
Which file types can I convert?
Word documents (.docx), plain text (.txt), Markdown (.md), HTML, and images — JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, and HEIC where the browser can decode it. Drop several at once and they become one PDF in the order you arrange them.
How faithful is the Word conversion?
Text, headings, bold and italic, lists, tables, and embedded images carry over. It is a clean re-typesetting rather than a pixel-perfect copy: the original fonts, columns, headers and footers, and precise page breaks are not reproduced. For contracts and letters the result reads correctly; for heavily designed documents, exporting from Word itself will be closer.
Why were some characters replaced with a question mark?
PDFs built here use the standard PDF fonts, which cover Latin scripts. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, and similar scripts cannot be drawn with them, so those characters are replaced and the tool tells you how many.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The .docx is unzipped and read in your browser, and the PDF is generated in a Web Worker on your own machine. Nothing is sent to a server — check your browser's Network tab while converting.
Can I convert a .doc, .pages, or .odt file?
Not directly. Open it in Word, Pages, or LibreOffice and save a copy as .docx first, then convert that.
